After launching the Protea NE Software, the program automatically scans for connected Ashly devices and displays them in the "Ashly" folder of the network tree, making it easy to identify and connect to your processor. At its heart, the 4.8SP utilizes twin Motorola DSP56362 processors running at 120MHz, handling with 24-bit, 48kHz delta-sigma A/D and D/A converters using 128x oversampling. This technical foundation delivers pristine audio quality while providing the horsepower for comprehensive signal processing.
The Protea NE software communicates with the 4.8SP processor through a standard USB connection (USB-A to USB-B cable provided with the unit). Once connected, the software automatically detects compatible Ashly devices on the network and displays them in the “device tree” on the left side of the startup window.
